Color Deserves To Be Shared

See a Color. Think of Someone. Send It.

There are a lot of reasons to send a card; birthdays. congratulations. thank-yous. new babies. new jobs. new homes. big life moments. small life moments. The occasional “I don't really know what to say, but I wanted you to know I'm thinking about you.”

But sometimes, there doesn't need to be a reason at all!

Sometimes it's just a color. It makes you think of someone.

That's where the Pantone Collection came from.

And if I'm being honest, there's probably a little bit of the graphic designer in me to blame.

I remember Pantone from graphic design school. Those little color swatches, the names, the numbers, the tiny printed books of perfectly organized color. There was something about them that I always loved; the aesthetics, the precision, the idea that a color could have its own identity.

(Give me a wall of Pantone swatches and I'm probably going to stand there longer than necessary.)

So naturally, I eventually thought 'Why not make greeting cards out of them?'

I wanted to make a collection that wasn't tied to a specific occasion. No “Happy Birthday” on the front. No prescribed sentiment. No deciding for you what the card is supposed to mean. Just color. Open to sending for ~anything~ the world throws.

Six of them, actually.

Fog. Marina. Midnight. Horizon. Ember. Hibiscus.

Each one has its own personality, and each one can become whatever you need it to be.

Perhaps Fog feels like a new beginning? Maybe it's the perfect card for a baby shower or a friend who's chasing something big?

Maybe Hibiscus immediately makes you think of your best friend because, obviously, she is a pink person?

Maybe Midnight is going to someone with impeccable taste? Or maybe it's your go-to thank-you card?

Horizon feels like good news! A new job. A birthday. A new adventure. Someone who brings a little more energy into every room they walk into?

And sometimes the reason is simply:

“I saw this and thought of you.”

I think we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to find the right card for the right occasion. We walk into a stationery store looking for something that already says exactly what we're trying to say.

But I've always loved the idea that the card doesn't have to do all the talking.

That's what the blank space is for.

For this collection, I wanted the inside to feel just as intentional as the outside. Each card features a color gradient that starts with the card's signature color and slowly fades into white, leaving you plenty of room to write your own note.

And because the paper matters, these are printed on substantial cotton cardstock. They're meant to feel good in your hand before you even open them.

The result is a card that's simple on purpose. The color gets your attention.
